Sanitation & Recycling
The City of Kerkhoven has their own solid waste collection. Every household will be required to have a City issued garbage container. All refuse must be placed in one of these containers. Excess garbage outside of the container will be charged $10.00 for the driver to exit vehicle and $5.00 per bag picked up. Garbage placed in privately owned containers will not be collected. No trash will be picked up unless it is in one of the city-owned cans. All Garbage Cans must be removed from the curb AFTER trash has been picked up.
Garbage pick up is on Monday's starting at 8am. If there is a holiday on Monday, garbage pick up will be on Tuesday.
Recycling is a service that is ran through the Swift County Environmental Services. Recycling is picked up on Mondays and must be placed in a blue recycling container or other container marked as recycling.
DO NOT PLACE YOUR RECYCLING CONTAINER ALONGSIDE YOUR GARBAGE CAN.
The City may pick up additional household items that need to be disposed of for a fee. Please call the City Office for a list of items that we can pick up and the cost of disposal.
